The West Baton Rouge Museum and the West Baton Rouge Parish Library are partnering to host the annual Easter Egg-stravaganza. This old-fashioned spring celebration will be held on the grounds of the West Baton Rouge Museum and is FREE and open to the public.
Concurrently, the museum will be hosting its monthly Old Time Jam and Behind the Barn Doors events and a reception celebrating the West Baton Rouge Public Schools’ Talented Art program’s student art show inside the main building.
The day will include music by Oasis Jazz Band, Blues After School Band, and anyone bringing an acoustic instrument to join in the Old Time Jam. There will be crafts, games, art viewing, art making activities, and Easter egg hunts for all ages. Be sure to congratulate local K-12 students and their teachers on their tremendous talent when touring the art show. The barn will be busy with traditional handcrafts and trade demonstrations such as split white oak basket making with guest artist, Geraldine Robertson and other historic demonstrations by museum staff. Additionally, guests will be able to visit and play with animals from the Barnyard Belle’s & Beaux’s petting zoo! There will also be an appearance from a special guest and our favorite friend, the Easter Bunny! Come on out and join the West Baton Rouge Museum and the West Baton Rouge Parish Library for an egg-stravagant afternoon, and don’t forget to bring your basket for the egg hunt. While this event is free, refreshments will be available for purchase from Ravasio’s Italian Ice and Grammy’s Kettle Corn.
